How to cook rice

Always Use 2 to 1 ratio

If you change any other part but use the ratio chances are your rice will be edible, do use 2 to 1 your in for a bad time.

Steps to cook rice

White Rice

Required Couple quart or more pot, Measuring cup (my eyeballs are not great so I uses foolproof). 1 cup rice to 2 cups water
  1. Water measured, rice measured, combine the ingredients in the pot, turn on high for a boil
  2. Once boiling reduce temprature to low and cover.
  3. Let cook until most of the water has dissipated from view. Still a little there it is ok
  4. Turn off heat, remove lid. Let sit for a few minutes (5 at most)
  5. Fluff with a fork, should be mostly dry, and ready to eat. Yum!
  6. Try one of the many recipes to go with your rice!

Brown Rice

Very similar to the white rice, just it will take longer!
Required Couple quart or more pot, Measuring cup, 1 cup rice to 2 cups water
  1. Water measured, rice measured, combine the ingredients in the pot, turn on high for a boil
  2. Once boiling reduce temprature to low and cover. Your in for about 30-40 minutes
  3. Let cook until most of the water has dissipated from view. Still a little there it is ok. You should test the rice at this point, sometimes even after cooking it is still tough and not the pliable rice we love.If this happens add another 1/2 cup of water and let it boil down again.
  4. Turn off heat, remove lid. Let sit for a few minutes (5 at most)
  5. Fluff with a fork, should be mostly dry, and ready to eat. Yum!
